Formula One Bahrain, Jenson wins!

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

How does it go, easy, easy, easy.

Masterful win for Jenson, his first lap move on the slow Lewis Hamilton (4th) won him the race and allowed him & the Brawn team to control the race.

Vettel got a well deserved place and 3rd spot for Jarno Trulli in the Toyota.

Sorry this one is short but I gotta flight to catch and loads to do, see you soon. kushtee.

Moto GP – Japan – Results

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

What a great race today!

Jorge Lorenzo wins.

I havn’t see such a good race at the front for a while, that was awesome. Valentino had a superb start as did a bunch of other riders, partcicularly Dani Pedrosa who eventually finished 3rd after giving Rossi a run for his money towards the end. Jorge was mighty and stayed with the pack until his time came to make a move on Rossi, he managed to pull a gap for a while Rossi and Pedrosa had a battle, Rossi started closing back in on Lorenzo but to little and tto late.

Casey Stoner went backwards at the start struggling with what seemed to be his tyres, he eventually fought back and passed De Angelis towards the end to take 4th place. Britains James Toseland had a good race and finished ahead of his team mate Colin Edwards in 9th.

The official results are:

1. Jorge Lorenzo SPA Fiat Yamaha Team 43min 47.238 sec

Formula One – Bahrain Qualifying

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Great qualifying today and Toyota’s first 1-2, well kinda Toyota’s first anything. But seriously they have been looking handy, Glock is happy now he is back on slick tyres and Trulli is, well, just happy, so were team for that matter.

I think the Toyota’s are probably light and may stop maybe 5 laps before everyone else, not sure how that will pan out in the race but it certainly looks good for Jenson Button in the Brawn and Sebastian Vettel in the Red Bull, looks like they may be on similar  fuel loads.

Kimi didnt have as good a Q3 as he did Q1-Q2 but still looking much much better than the last 3 races, I hope he can do something tomorrow.

Really looking forward to the race, lets hope it has no interuptions like the last few, theres always a chance of a sandstorm rather than a rainstorm in Bahrain.

Until tomorrow, kushtee.

Formula One – Bahrain GP – Free Practice

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Free practice over, A lone Toyota with Glock at the wheel finishes top of the time sheets but breaks down a few laps later.

The Ferrari’s and McLarens are going well and put in some good times, is the this start of the return?

Jenson Button and Rubes Barrichello seem to be struggling in the BrawnGP car, many thought the hot weather would suit the car, are they struggling or is this just part of Ross Brawn’s master plan, we will see.

Looking forward to Qualifying in an hour or so.

Some good interviews and article’s over at James Allen’s blog visit http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/ and take a look.

Formula 1 China – Results

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Wow.

Another wet race, surely not in Bahrain too.

So, Vettel emerges king of the wet, again, he has a steady foot in the wet and seemed to enjoy driving the Red Bull today, a 1-2 for Red Bull wont do them any harm at all, Im sure their spirits are high for the rest of the season. Mark Webber still continues to be the unluckiest F1 driver to date, he probably doesnt see it that way but what does he have to do to get a win, I think he’s a great driver and he’s not afraid to be aggresive to either keep a place or gain a place, I’m sure his time will come. lets hope so, good luck Mark.

Jenson did well to get his 3rd podium, all be it 3rd, he increases his lead in the championship, and, he got more points than his 1st place 2 weeks ago, see older article for my rant on that.

Adrian Sutil has to be one of the unlickiest guys today, running in 6th after Hamilton went off track he had a spin spin and hit the wall at some pace, unlucky.

No points for Ferrari (grrr) again and BMW left empty handed too, Hamilton did well I feel from his 9th place on the grid. So, onto Bahrain next week, unfortunately its also the 2nd round of the MotoGP, not sure if they clash time wise but I will have to have 2 tv’s next to each other if they do. Lets hope Bahrain brings us a race without incident.

Later, kushtee.

Formula 1 qualifying China

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Wow, great session.

I dont know why the media is billing this as a shock pole for vettel, firstly the Red Bull cars have been going well for a while, Webber missed out on the pole so Vettel took it, whats the big surprise????

Vettel has been driving well for a while and threatening something good, maybe even a second win is close although I suspect a low fuel load, maybe something similar to Buttons.

At the end of the day I would expect Ross Brawn to pull something out of the bag in terms of pit lane strategy, we will see. Lets hope Jenson has more fuel on board so he can put in some of those flying laps he’s been doing lately.

Alonso managed to pull a front row start out of the bag to give the Renault engine the top 3 places, lets hope he can translate it into a podium position. Definitely a mixed grid for tomorrows race, I’m really looking forward to it, it looks like we wont have any interuptions to upset proceedings for the race anyway.

Hamilton seems to be enjoying the car a bit more now he has a version of the diffuser that McLaren were opposing only a few days ago, hah, still only managing a 9th on the grid though.

So who’s for the win, I’m not sure I want to stick my neck out on this one, who do you think, let me know?

Later, kushtee.
